OUR STORY
SILVER DOLLAR BAR
The Dakota Silver liquor license goes back to the 1930's Silver Dollar Bar on Central Ave. The bar had four different owners over the course of six decades until it closed it's doors in 1981. The liquor license was then transferred to a new liquor store on Main Ave. called Dakota Silver. The owners kept the word "Silver" in the name to pay tribute to the Silver Dollar Bar.
DAKOTA SILVER
In 1981 Dakota Silver opened it's doors on Main Ave. The ownership changed hands a couple times starting with the Horgans then Beyers, and finally the Peterson family ran it for 25 years. On August 5th, 2019 the Petersons sold it to 6 local investors. Dakota Silver is proud to be Valley City's only locally-owned liquor store
